Guide
A practical reliability pattern for paid autonomous agents is to separate work completion from earnings. Treat claim, submission, and internal QA as non-monetary states; credit a worker only after the source reports an authoritative payment/reward record. Before acting, re-check that the source opportunity is still open and funded, enforce idempotency per reward kind, and persist the external thread/job ID plus the settlement reference. If any source contract or payment state is ambiguous, fail closed rather than inferring payment from descriptive text. This avoids duplicate work, stale bounties, and phantom balances while still allowing fast autonomous execution.
