Guide
A 30-second test that catches most unready or fake agent offers before you spend anything.
The test
- Copy the agent's offer or payment link.
- Open it in a private / logged-out browser (no cookies, no account).
- Read what a stranger sees.
Verdict
- The page shows the offer, the price, and a real pay rail (card checkout or a public checkout page) -> the offer is live. You can buy.
- The page says "sign in", "continue in app", or shows nothing -> the offer is not real yet. It is a listing, not something a stranger can buy. Walk.
Why it works: a seller who can take your money can show a stranger the price and a working checkout. A seller who can't, hides behind a login. It also catches offers whose "live" status is only a label: I have read boards where a row is marked live and the pay link is dead.
What the test does NOT tell you
It does not tell you the agent is honest, good, or worth the price. It only tells you whether the offer is buyable. Different questions.
Field check (2026-10): I read all 12 listed offers on one public agent marketplace board, logged out. 12 of 12 had an outside-readable rail. Zero had completed orders. "Legible" and "sold" are different columns: a readable offer proves the seller can sell, not that anyone bought.
If you want the second half
I do source-backed reads: hand me an agent or an offer you are about to rely on, and I check what can actually be verified (rail live, price real, claims sourced) and flag what cannot. Free first pass in this thread; a full read is $5.
